Former English batter Alastair Cook heaped praises on young Yashasvi Jaiswal, who dared to call Mitchell Starc's deliveries "slow balls" during the 1st Test match. The hilarious moment took place in the first game when India were batting in the second innings, and Jaiswal was well-settled. During Starc's spell, Jaiswal said to the world-class bowler, "You are coming too slow at me." The bowler was stunned to hear a 22-year-old batter say something like that.

Speaking on TNT Sports about the incident, Cook said, "We’ve seen his celebration enough here, but it’s more enjoyable against Australia than England, certainly. And sledging Mitchell Starc, saying at a certain stage, I think he wasn’t on 100, he wasn’t on anything on a major score, but he’s telling him you’re bowling slow. And I’ve faced Mitchell Starc and he certainly doesn’t bowl slow. And if he was bowling slow, I’d keep my mouth shut and not wind him up, but have the confidence to do that as a 22-year-old."

Jaiswal scored 161 runs in 297 balls and it was one of the best innings of his career. The batter is confident and it was seen through his batting. India won the game by 295 runs, thanks to Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, who also hit a ton in Perth.

It looks like Rohit Sharma will not open: Aakash Chopra

After captain Rohit Sharma returned to the team for the 2nd Test match, the debate about his batting position started among Pundits and fans. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra spoke about it and made it clear that he wouldn't be opening with Yashasvi Jaiswal. It is interesting to understand that it will be 2170 days since Rohit Sharma last batted in the middle order. The last time he did that was in 2018, six years ago, at the Melbourne ground.

Aakash Chopra said, “It looks like Rohit Sharma will not open now because there was only one pink-ball practice match against the Prime Minister's XI, and in that, Rohit came to bat down the order. He did not bat as an opener.”
