Former India batter Aakash Chopra expressed concern over KL Rahul’s form with the bat. The 32-year-old scored just 12 runs so far from the first two games in the current ODI series against England. Rahul who has been playing ahead of Rishabh Pant in the ODI format had a woeful day behind the stumps as well.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said, “KL Rahul is batting at No. 6. Is KL Rahul the best option to bat at No. 6? That's a big question because you send a left-hander ahead of him. When he gets to bat, he didn't score runs in the last match and didn't score runs in this match as well."

The 47-year-old also said, “He didn't score runs in two innings in Sri Lanka. There he batted at No. 7 and then you dropped for the third match. Now you have played him here but runs haven't been scored in the two matches here as well. So what do you do now?"

Former India pacer slams Gautam Gambhir over KL Rahul’s batting spot

Dodda Ganesh saw red after KL Rahul was given a demotion in the batting order. Axar Patel has been preferred to bat at number five while Rahul has batted at six. 31-year-old Axar Patel has already scored a fifty in Nagpur and was not out on 41 on Sunday.

Former India pacer Dodda Ganesh took aim at coach Gautam Gambhir and put out a angry tweet which read, “Axar Patel again ahead of KL Rahul? I’m speechless. Does it make any sense to push a genuine batter like Rahul to no 6? When you’re 5/3, do you’ve the courage to send Axar on a tricky pitch? If not, what sense does this experiment make? Absolutely mindless this is.”

“KL Rahul has been best at no 5; but the wisemen in the dressing room find different ways to demote him in this batting lineup. Absolutely ridiculous. What are you going to achieve by sending Axar at no 5?" further wrote Dodda Ganesh showing his frustrations at Gambhir’s decisions.
