India under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, are set to be in action in the highly anticipated ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which is just a few hours away. The tournament will commence tomorrow June 2, with the inaugural match between the co-hosts USA and Canada. India will play their first match against Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

Team India is currently preparing and undergoing training in New York. Meanwhile, what attracted the eyeballs is that the men in blue are reportedly ‘not happy’’ with the ‘average’ training facilities the authorities have provided them in Cantiague Park.

Some of the media reports have learned that there are no proper training and practice facilities at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Meanwhile, the players are also ‘unhappy’ with the very ‘average’ facilities they have been given at Cantiague Park, which is a makeshift training venue for Team India.

ICC comes up with clarification after reports of 'concern' from Indian camp

“Everything is makeshift – from pitches to other facilities. Safe to say everything is average. The team has raised their concerns,” a source close to Team India told News18.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has also intervened and reacted to the situation. The apex governing body claimed that there was no official complaint or concern from Team India.

“There has been no complaint of concern expressed or concern expressed regarding the practice facilities at Cantiague Park by any team,” ICC was quoted as saying in a report.

Speaking of India’s schedule in the T20 World Cup 2024, they will start their campaign with the first match against Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 5, Wednesday. The men in blue will take on the arch-rivals, Pakistan in the high-octane clash on June 9 at the same venue in New York.
