In what seems to be a big concern for the cricketing authorities and the organization authorities in the USA, the threats and chances of a ‘lone wolf’ attack’ or a ‘mass murder’ have come to the scene just 10 days away from high-octane India vs Pakistan Group A match.

Meanwhile, American authorities have promised to strengthen the security like never before at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium, in Eisenhower Park in New York. Notably, the game between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be played on June 9. However, the official cable from the Governor’s office reads that there is no such evidence of any threat of a ‘lone wolf attack’. “No credible public safety threat at this time,” reads the official stance of the Governor’s office.

Notably, it is going to be for the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup when the tournament is being hosted by the USA. It is also going to be the first-ever edition in the tournament’s history when a total of 20 teams will be participating in the tournament.

Nassau Executive Bruce ensures 'tightened like never before' security

Coming back to the ‘security threat’ over the high-voltage India vs Pakistan game, the Executive, Nassau County Bruce Blakeman and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder spoke about this threat of a ‘lone wolf attack’; for the unversed, a ‘lone wolf attack’ is an attempt of a mass murder at a public gathering, this attack is carried by an individual.

“Every day, Nassau County, as well as other communities and cities and counties and towns throughout the United States, receive all kinds of threats. We take every threat seriously,” Bruce Blakeman was quoted as saying by CBS News.

“To that end, we have taken many, many precautions. As well as making sure that the stadium and the surrounding Eisenhower Park are safe, the parking areas are safe, and the watch areas are safe, we also are adding 100 additional police officers to our normal staffing for the rest of the county, just as a precaution,” he added later.
