India's T20I Skipper Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir's stint started on a winning note as the Men in Blue has already won the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka 2 -0. While one more game is left, India will be sure enough to win this game to clean sweep the series. Moreover, the Suryakumar-Gambhir duo has been together since they played for KKR, which was one of the main reasons why the right-handed batter was appointed the captain.

Ashish Nehra, India's former player, has opened up about this duo and said that since they know each other well, they will also be successful in the future.

"Surya played at KKR when GG (Gambhir) was there. So, it's not like a new coach has come in and Surya has become a new skipper. It's because they know each other well. GG knows Surya's capabilities and strengths as a player and captain. If we see other countries, they have had three different captains or two different captains for a long time. I am sure captain Surya will do well under coach GG," said Ashish Nehra during an interview with TOI.

Sri Lanka's batting has been the problem, and until they work hard, they'll be losing matches that they were supposed to win. The next assignment for India will be the ODI series starting on August 2. This time, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are back in the team, increasing the fans' excitement level.

This is a good transition in the Indian team: Ashish Nehra

The Indian team is ready to play in the upcoming one-year with a new captain in T20I and a new head coach. While Rohit Sharma is the main captain, Shubman Gill is his deputy in white-ball cricket. Apart from this, there are a lot of players ready to play white-ball and red-ball cricket. Hence, as per Ashish Nehra, this transition has been easier for India and will show a positive outcome in the upcoming years.

"The main captain is Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill has been announced as his deputy. If you look at T20Is, India will play 5 or 6 T20Is this year. Surya has been part of the Indian side for a while. Rohit is there in the Indian side and will be leading in the other two formats - ODIs and Tests. Virat is there too. After winning the World Cup, this is a good transition in the Indian team. You have a lot of replacements," said Ashish Nehra.
