International Cricket Council (ICC) sat across the table and discussed a lot of things when they met in Sri Lanka recently. The focus of the meeting revolved around India’s participation in the Champions Trophy 2025. It is unlikely BCCI is going to budge from its stand of not touring Pakistan.

As the crisis deepens ICC is starting to get concerned that PCB doesn’t have a fallback plan. The Apex Cricket body is starting to see the alarm bells ringing as they can see lots of logistical plans arise if India doesn’t agree to tour Pakistan early next year.

Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has shown his anger towards BCCI and Jay Shah in particular. On many occasions, Afridi has asked the BCCI to come to Pakistan and play cricket.

Shahid Afridi slams BCCI over reluctance to tour Pakistan

Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has slammed the BCCI when speaking to the media. "If India does not have the intention of coming to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, then India will continue to make excuses," was what Afridi said to the media.

Afridi also said, “Hum itni baar India gaye hai. Mushkil halat mein gaye. Humein dhamkiya bhi milti rahi fir bhi hum India ke tour karte rahe. Aapki niyat se pata chal gaya. Humne India ko support kiya hai. Humko threat milte rahe but Pakistan Cricket Board and government ne initiative liya hai. Agar Indian cricket board ki niyat hai Pakistan ke saath chalne ki toh aajayega. Agar nahi hai, toh nahi aayenge fir security ko bahane bana dege.”

There has been a lot of anger in the Pakistani media over India’s stance. Shoaib Malik had said, “Hum bahut ache log hai aur India ko zaroor aana chaiyem Politics ko nahi lani chaiye sports ke andar. Pichle saal Pakistan gayi thi India is baar un ko b aana chaiye”.

Younis Khan also chipped in and said during an interaction with the media had stated that Virat Kohli should come to Pakistan. Terming it the only thing left to do in his career, Younis Khan asked the BCCI and the Indian government to let the tour happen. If the Champions Trophy is shifted out of Pakistan the PCB stands to lose a lot of money.
