South Africa are set to be back on the Cricket field after the heartbreaking loss in the T20 World Cup 2024 final against India. The Proteas will be on the West Indies tour for a two-match Test series which will kick off on August 7 and will be concluded on August 19. Cricket South Africa (CSA) have announced a 16-member squad for the series.

Meanwhile, the star South African all-rounder Marco Jansen is rested for the tour. It’d be interesting to see the Proteas’ performance in the absence of their ace all-rounder. Notably, Jansen has played 13 Test matches so far in which he has taken 49 wickets and has scored 401 runs.

However, most of the players in the squad are young and they will definitely would like to gain some knowledge from these senior players.

Ryan Rickelton to make his comeback in the Test squad

The series will also mark the debut of young Matthew Breetzke who has also captained the South Africa A side in December against India. Ryan Rickelton will also mark his comeback in the Test squad.
