India's (IND) 2024 tour of Sri Lanka (SL), comprising a three-match ODI and T20I series, is set to kick off on Saturday (July 27). The multi-format series will begin with 20-over cricket when the Men in Blue take on the Lankan Lions at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.
Sri Lanka will aim for a fresh start after a terrible World Cup in which they won just one game out of four matches in the group stage. On the other hand, India went unbeaten throughout the tournament and became champions for the second time in history.
It is interesting to note that both teams will be playing under new captains. With the retirement of Rohit Sharma, India have named Suryakumar Yadav as their new captain in T20Is. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka appointed Charith Asalanka at the helm with Wanindu Hasaranga stepping down from the role.
