After a thrilling 1st ODI game, the 2nd ODI was even more pleasing for the Sri Lankan team as they beat India by 32 runs. India were the favourite to win the series comfortably having multiple senior players in the squad, but it turns out that Sri Lanka has risen from the ashes. They have done something that wasn't expected of them and now are on the verge of creating history.

If Sri Lanka win the upcoming 3rd ODI on August 7, then they will win an ODI series against India after 27 years. This will be a huge transformation in the Sri Lanka camp. All these possibilities opened only because they defeated India in the 2nd ODI and managed to draw the first game. The bowling has been fantastic throughout the series for the Island nation.

Now, the Sri Lankan team will be full of confidence and enthusiasm, which might cause India to lose the series. The credit goes to skipper Charith Asalanka and Jeffrey Vandersay for excellent bowling in the 2nd ODI, leading to India's defeat. It seems like Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma's tactics aren't working in the ODI series. However, all the eyes will be on the 3rd game now as the excitement has increased.

It was an unbelievable spell by Vandersay: Charith Asalanka

The 2nd ODI was indeed unbelievable due to various reasons. The major one was Jeffrey Vandersay's 6 wickets in 10 overs, with just 33 runs conceded. The spell was magnificent where he shattered the hopes of the Indian batters. They struggled against him and Charith Asalanka as well. Asalanka himself took three wickets that were brilliant.

"I was pretty with the score. 240 was good enough. As a captain, these kind of problems (plenty of spin options) I need to have. It was an unbelievable spell by him (Vandersay). They were more than 90 runs when he came in to bowl. I am mainly a batter, I have to score runs. After that I can bowl a few overs," said Charith Asalanka at the post-match presentation.
