Rohit Sharma blitz leaves Sri Lanka reeling

Needing 241 to win, Rohit Sharma who had scored a fifty in the first game was yet again in his elements. India’s skipper began slowly but once he found his groove he began going after the Sri Lankan bowlers.

Rohit Sharma unleashed all his trademark shots as the home team bowlers didn’t have a clue. Shubman Gill on the other hand was quiet in his approach as he didn’t venture or play any flashy shots

The 4th over of the Indian innings saw Rohit Sharma open his arms as he hit Dunith Wellage for three fours. After hitting Akila Dhananjaya for a four, Rohit Sharma hit Asitha Fernando for one four and a huge six. This got the Indian skipper on par with Chris Gayle to become the second highest six hitter in ODI cricket.

Akila Dhananjaya was hit for yet another six as the Indian team reached 60 for no loss from 8 overs. The fifty for Rohit Sharma came up when he smashed Kamindu Mendis for his third six of the innings.
