Iyer had said at the end of the game, “So, funny story. I was watching a movie last night. I thought I could extend my night, but then I got a call from the skipper saying that you may play because Virat has got a swollen knee. And then I hurried back to my room, went off to sleep straightaway."

Manoj Tiwary, while responding to Sports.info, said, “See, the coach, management, support staff and also the captain have a huge role in the team. They show the direction and they give the clarity to the players and obviously everything boils down to the results. If we are winning, everything is swept under the carpet, but the moment we lose, everything comes to the forefront.”

The former India star also added, “My observation is always that even if we win, things need to be corrected. Because we as a nation have a tremendous amount of talent pool where we can win the ICC Champions Trophy or, for that matter, any ICC trophy on a regular basis. Not after 10 or 12 years, just because we have such a massive talent pool.”

Manoj Tiwary names his bowling combination for Champions Trophy

Sports. Info also asked Manoj Tiwary his bowling combination for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Jasprit Bumrah is one of the notable names who is a massive doubt after suffering injury during the final Test in Sydney against Australia.

India’s former batter said, "See, it is very difficult for me to say that right now because I don’t know how the pitch is going to play. If the pitch is slow, then obviously you have to go with two pacers, and Hardik Pandya will be the third pacer. If the pitch is assisting fast bowlers, then I will go with three pacers plus Hardik Pandya and one spinner.”
