South Africa are all set to play the big semifinals in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 against Afghanistan. After a long time, the Proteas have reached another knockout stage and will look forward to making the most of it. Even though they have a record of choking in the ICC tournament's knockout stages, they'll have to play exceptionally well to win the match against Afghanistan.

While the Proteas have struggled to win throughout the entire games, they have finally qualified for the semifinals. On the other hand, Afghanistan had a really good bowling attack that might trouble the South African batters. Moreover, one positive takeaway for South Africa is that they are still unbeaten in this World Cup edition.

Here is South Africa's playing 11 for the semi-final clash against Afghanistan:

Top Order

South Africa's top order consists of three brilliant players: Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, and Aiden Markram. All three batters have the potential to win matches and play some really good knocks. However, no other batter except for de Kock had shown up in the tournament. If South Africa have to qualify for the finals, the top order will have to perform. De Kock has had a consistent tournament so far and will continue performing in the upcoming match.

Middle Order

The Proteas' middle order has some prominent batting in the form of Tristen Stubbs, Henrich Klaasen, David Miller, and Marco Jansen. All the players have made minor contributions to the team but failed to perform whenever required. However, only David Miller stood the test of time and performed in almost all the matches, which is why the Proteas managed to qualify for the semifinals. In the upcoming matches, the team will depend on the middle order, and all players must perform.

Bowlers

The bowlers play a massive role in the victories of any team, especially in the T20 format. For South Africa, the bowlers are Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Tabraiz Shamsi. They all flourished throughout the tournament by taking some good wickets and getting essential breakthroughs for the team. Afghanistan's batting is not strong at all. So, if the bowlers will dismantle their batting attack, the Proteas will easily win the match.

South Africa's predicted 11:

Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram (C), Tristen Stubbs, Henrich Klaasen, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi
