South Africa gets huge blow as key pacer misses out of West Indies tour due to injury; replacement announced

The South Africa Cricket Board has named Migael Pretorius as his replacement, and he is yet to make his debut for the team at 29.

South Africa's key pacer, Gerald Coetzee, will miss the first two Test matches against West Indies, which will be played in Trinidad due to a strain on his left side. He is a lethal bowler who will miss the Test match as the matches will be held in the Caribbean. However, the Board has already announced the replacement for Coetzee in the upcoming Test matches. 

The South Africa Cricket Board has named Migael Pretorius as his replacement, and he has yet to make his debut for the team at 29. He finally got his maiden call-up, and if he gets a chance to play, he will definitely look to make the most out of it. Moreover, Coetzee was playing for the Texas Super Kings (TSK) in the Major League Cricket (MLC) tournament, where he got injured. 

After returning to South Africa, the medical staff didn't allow him to participate in the upcoming series. He has been asked to rest for a while and ruled out of the initial two matches. If he recovers by then, he will be added to the team in the upcoming matches.

South Africa's tour of West Indies to start on August 7

South Africa is set to travel to the West Indies to play a two-match Test series and a 3-match T20I series starting on August 7. Both teams have released their squads, and some extremely talented players will make the series interesting. Before playing the original series, the Proteas will play a warm-up match against an allotted team, which will act as their practice match and would be beneficial.

First Test: 7-11 August, Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago

Second Test: 15-19 August, Guyana National Stadium, Guyana

First T20I: 23 August, Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad

Second T20I: 24 August, Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad

Third T20I: 27 August, Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad
