West Indies came back to winning ways on Friday during the Super-8 match vs USA in the T20 World Cup game in Barbados. The home team won by 9 wickets with 55 balls to spare. Shai Hope was thew hero with the bat as he scored an unbeaten 82 from 39 balls with 4 boundaries and 8 sixes.

Both sides had come into the game looking for a win. The United States of America had given a tough fight to South Africa before losing their game. West Indies on the other hand had lost after bad fielding and bowling had cost them the match against England.

United States of America were put into bat first by Rovman Powell and were bundled out for just 128. Three wickets each by Roston Chase and Andre Russell played a key role in USA being dismissed. Andries Gous was the batter for the visitors with his 29 coming off 16 balls.

Shai Hope leads West Indies to huge win

Chasing 129 runs to win, Shai Hope and Johnson Charles came out to open the batting. The right-handed batter had replaced Brandon King who had suffered an injury in the last match versus England.

Johnson Charles struggled on his way to scoring 16 runs from 14 balls with 2 fours to his name. The opening pair had raised 67 runs in 7 overs before Charles fell to Harmeet Singh caught by Milind Kumar.

That was the only wicket of the game as Nicholas Pooran joined Shai Hope and took the team to the win. Pooran was not out on 27 runs from 13 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes as the pair added an unbeaten 63 runs in just 3.5 overs to seal the game.

With this win now have overtaken England to go second in the Super-8 table due to a better run-rate. England had lost their game to South Africa by the barest of margins in the first match of the day. The final round of fixtures will witness West Indies facing South Africa and England taking on USA as the race for Semi-Finals heats up.
