Opting to bat first, India got off to a good star with a change in the opening combination. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the one who opened with Shubman Gill as the two youngsters added 67 runs for the 1st wicket.

Yashasvi Jaiswal who didn’t get a game during the T20 World Cup took out his frustrations on the Zimbabwean bowlers. The left-handed batter scored 36 runs from 27 balls with four boundaries and two sixes.

Sikandar Raza then dismissed Jaiswal in the 1st ball of the ninth over and then got Abhishek Sharma for 10. Shubman Gill kept going as he scored yet another fifty in the T20I format before falling for 65. Ruturaj Gaikwad batted well to score 49 before falling in the final over.
