After the second ODI between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval, Shreyas Iyer appeared in the Press Conference. The Indian ODI Vice-Captain was asked about his decision to take a break from red-ball cricket, which he did before the second unofficial Test between India A and Australia A. Iyer felt he couldn't be as intense for an entire Test, compared to an entire white ball match.

The star player noted that he has been in action continuously since the Champions Trophy 2025 and the IPL. He claimed to have felt a reduction in his intensity while playing the red ball format. He claimed it to be the reason behind his decision not to play red ball cricket.
