Former Indian coach Sanjay Bangar’s son has undergone a successful sex change operation. Aryan Bangar has changed his name to Anaya Bangar and also shared a video of his complete transformation on Instagram. The move came about nearly a year after the procedure took place.
Aryan (now Anaya) is also a cricket player just like his father. Anaya wrote on Instagram “Chasing my dream of playing cricket professionally has been a journey filled with sacrifices, resilience and unwavering dedication. From early mornings on the field to facing doubts and judgement of others every step has demanded strength”
Sanjay Bangar is yet comment on the issue that has become sensational news in the social media world. Former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar played a handful of Tests and ODI matches for the national side under Sourav Ganguly. Post his retirement he was part of the Indian coaching set up with Ravi Shastri as a batting coach.

Writing more on Instagram, Anaya Bangar said “But beyond the game, I had another journey. A path of self discovery and a lot of challenges faced. Embracing my true self meant making hard choices, letting go of the comfort of fitting in, and standing up for who I am, even when it wasn’t easy”
Anaya also wrote “Today. I am proud to be part of the sport I love at any level or category. Not only as an athlete but as my authentic self. The road hasn’t been easy, but finding my true self has been the greatest victory of all”. The post has garnered over 30,000 likes and over 100 comments.
Sanjay Bangar made his India debut in 2001 at the age of 29 during the Mohali Test versus England. The all-rounder played 12 Tests for India scored 470 runs with his only century coming against Zimbabwe in Nagpur. Bangar’s most memorable moment was when he opened the batting against England in Leeds and scored 68 off 236 balls and batted for 296 minutes.
The former Indian star also played 15 ODI matches with a best of 57 not out from 41 balls against West Indies. With the ball Bangar picked 7 wickets in both formats of the game and was part of the Indian squad that reached the finals of the 2003 ODI World Cup. His last Test was in 2002 during the New Zealand tour while his final ODI was against Zimbabwe in Adelaide in 2004.
Bangar was also part of first two season of IPL where he played for Deccan Chargers and KKR. In total Sanjay Bangar played 12 games in the IPL and scored 49 runs and also picked 4 wickets before retiring from the game in 2012.
