Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh became proud parents to their 2nd child. The 37-year-old welcomed his son to the world just before the series against Australia was set to begin. On Sunday news emerged that Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika have named the newborn as Ahaan Rohit Sharma.

The announcement was made via Ritika’s Instagram story who had put up the short name of all the family members. Rohit Sharma’s name was shortened to RO with Ritika’s name shortened to Ritz. Daughter Samaira is known as Sammy and this is when the world got to the new member of Sharma’s family. 

The 37-year-old is in Australia playing in the warm up game against Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra. It is believed that Rohit will bat in the middle order during the 2nd Test match in Adelaide. The move was on expected lines thanks to the 201-run stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul in Perth. 

Sam Konstas century gives India stiff target in Canberra

India won the toss and chose to bowl in the warm up against PM XI in Canberra on Sunday. The game was supposed to be a 50-over affair before yet another short spell of rain meant that the game was reduced to 46-over per side. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep removed Matt Renshaw and Jayden Goodwin to leave the hosts at 22/2. 

Sam Konstas and Jack Clayton added 109 runs for the third wicket in 16.5 overs. Harshit Rana then ran through the middle order to claim 4/44 from 6 overs. Sam Konstas then added 67 runs for the 8th wicket with Hanno Jacobs in 12.3 overs. The best batter for PM XI was Konstas who scored 107 runs from 97 balls with 14 fours and a six. 

Hanno Jacobs swung his bat around to score 61 runs from 60 balls with four boundaries and 2 sixes. Akash Deep ended with 2 wickets while Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Prasidh Krishna picked a wicket each. PM XI ended their innings on 240 after being bowled out with 16 balls left.
