India's young cricket star Riyan Parag is on his maiden trip with the national side playing in Zimbabwe. The 22-year-old has found himself in another controversy this time where he has blocked popular YouTuber Maxtern over his comments on social media.
Maxtern had recently posted a video of Ananya Pandey dancing in some function and captioned it by saying “ @riyanparag bhai deko isko”. This was an apparent dig at the Indian star having been in the news for his YouTube searches regarding Ananya Pandey and Sara Ali Khan.
Riyan Paraga was quick to notice the comment and had messaged Maxtern on his Instagram handle. The cricketer wasn’t pleased with the apparent attempts by Maxtern to troll him and later blocked him on Instagram. This is the same Maxtern who was involved in a fisticuff with Elvish Yadav who is yet another popular YouTuber.
Washington Sundar recalls Riyan Parag’s words during the 3rd T20I
Team India beat Zimbabwe by a margin of 23 runs to win the third match of the series. Washington Sundar played a key role with the ball as he picked 3/15 from his 4 overs. The wicket of Jonathan Campbell saw Riyan Parag take a neat catch in the slips after coming on as a substitute fielder.
Speaking to the media at the end of the game, Sundar said “Just before the ball, Riyan Parag told me that it would be great if he could get a catch. Because he had come in as a substitute fielder and it was great for me to execute in that vein”
Riyan Parag was benched for the game as Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson made their returns to the side. Dhruv Jurel also missed the game as Yashasvi Jaiswal came back into the team after the three made a late entry to Zimbabwe after the T20 World Cup.
Batting first India had scored 182 with Shubman Gill scoring a fifty while Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 49. The home team scored 159 with Dion Myers playing an enterprising knock to register his maiden T20I fifty. The final two games of the series will be played in Harare over the weekend.
