For the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics 2028, cricket has been added as a category after 128 years. All the cricket-playing nations will get a chance to participate in the Olympics and try to win the competition to get the Gold medal for the country. As per reports, keeping the upcoming Olympics in mind, the England Cricket Board (ECB) and the Scotland Board have decided to collaborate and form a squad named 'Great Britain' that can go to LA to participate in the Olympics.

"With the Los Angeles Olympics four years away, it's very early stages, but we're talking to Team GB and Cricket Scotland about the next steps we need to take. Once again, Great Britain's Olympians have captured the national imagination with their exploits in Paris this year, and we look forward to working together to compete when cricket returns to the Olympic stage in 2028," said an ECB spokesperson as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.

The cricket event will go on for a week with consecutive matches. The location of the matches hasn't been finalized yet. Moreover, it's not yet official whether the collaboration will happen or not. The Los Angeles Knight Riders and the Major League Cricket are coming forward to build a cricket stadium by then to host the event.

Franchise cricket is something I've never done: James Anderson

The 42-year-old James Anderson has retired from international cricket after having a magnificent career. However, he hasn't played in franchise cricket in his entire career. While watching The Hundred, Anderson feels that he is fit enough to play in the worldwide leagues, which is a good sign for the upcoming IPL 2025.

"I watch the Hundred and see the ball swinging around in the first 20 balls and I think: 'I can do that, I can still do that.' I don't know if that is a viable option, to maybe see if I could do a job in white-ball cricket. Franchise cricket is something I've never done," said Anderson.
