Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Rajesh Menon has refused to claim anything about the team’s new captain. Mr. Menon was in conversation with Sports Today when he was asked if the team had decided on their new skipper. There are speculations that Virat Kohli is set to make his return as the new captain for the IPL 2025 season.
When answering this question, RCB’s COO said, “Too early to talk about it. There are different experienced people in the mix. So, we need to evaluate and come to a conclusion. It won't be long before we come to that conclusion.”
Mr. Menon also added more intrigue when he said, “Currently, we have not decided anything. We have multiple leaders in the team. 4-5 leaders are there. We have not deliberated what we need to do. We will deliberate, and we will come to a conclusion."

With just over a month left for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League to begin, there is massive anticipation among the fans. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are one of three original teams in the IPL that are yet to win the league.
RCB has signed star names like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Phil Salt and Krunal Pandya who have experience winning the tiles. Josh Hazlewood is another name who has been added to the mix and will be one of the leading players during the season.
Rajesh Menon, during his chat with Sports Today, was asked about the strategy in the auction table: “We were very clear in terms of what kind of gaps we have and what all we need to fulfil, and what is the Indian core that we require to build, and if you want to play in M Chinnaswamy Stadium, what kind of bowling attack we require. And that is what we did.”
“If you see Day 1, it was low-key for us. People thought we were not participating in the auction, but at the end of Day 2, everybody, right from fans to experts, felt saying what we have done is the best because we have covered all the gaps, and I think we have got one of the best teams What will happen in IPL 2025? We don't know. It's a 10-team tournament. We will put our best foot forward and then see what happens,” RCB’s COO also added.
