Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel will not be covering the remaining matches of Chennai Super Kings, as the admin confirmed on Monday, April 7. Ashwin's channel, known for its analytical and fun approach to the game of cricket, was in the middle of controversy on Saturday when one of its analysts, Prasanna Agoram, argued on the topic of Noor Ahmad.
Ashwin's YouTube channel featured a video last week in which Prasanna Agoram, a former data analyst for the South Africa cricket team and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, criticized CSK for purchasing Afghanistan's Noor Ahmad in the IPL 2025 auction, even though the team had Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, two experienced spinners, in the lineup.
Surprisingly, Noor is one of the few bright spots for the squad, even though CSK's season took a downward turn following their triumph in their initial match against the Mumbai Indians. Following the social media outrage, which came as CSK suffered their third straight defeat, a 25-run setback to Delhi Capitals in Chennai, the video was removed.
The Afghanistan wrist spinner, Noor Ahmad who currently holds the Purple Cap, has taken ten wickets in IPL 2025. While Jadeja and Ashwin have picked four wickets between them in the four games thus far and have not been at their best. With two points from four games, CSK is presently ranked ninth in the standings. CSK faces Punjab Kings away from home and is eager to win
I have no idea - Stephen Fleming's on Ravichandran Ashwin's channel
After CSK's home defeat to Delhi Capitals on Saturday by 25 runs, coach Stephen Fleming was questioned over the video. "I have no idea," he said, calling it "irrelevant." I'm not aware of that stuff because I didn't even know he had a channel. That doesn't matter. In response to the incident, Ashwin posted a detailed statement on his YouTube account stating that, for the duration of the IPL season, he will not be covering any CSK-related topics.
