The former Indian coach Rahul Dravid is set for a huge return to the dugout. The 51-year-old had bid goodbye to the national side after winning the T20 World Cup just a month ago. It was thought that Rahul Dravid would be taking the vacant mentor’s role at Kolkata Knight Riders while Gautam Gambhir became the national coach.

According to a report carried in the Times of India, Rahul Dravid is all set to return to Rajasthan Royals. One source in the know while speaking to the newspaper said, “Talks are going on between RR and Dravid, and an announcement in this regard is just around the corner.”

Rahul Dravid played three years for Rajasthan Royals and later became the coach of the side. With the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions looming large the 2008 IPL winners will be looking to ink the deal as soon as possible to get their former star back in the saddle.

Ravichandran Ashwin recalls Rahul Dravid’s emotional moment

Veteran Indian star Ravichandran Ashwin took to his YouTube Channel and recalled how Rahul Dravid reacted after winning the T20I World Cup. The 37-year-old said, “My moment was When Virat Kohli called Rahul Dravid and gave the cup... I saw him hug the cup and cry. Rahul Dravid screamed and cried. I saw him enjoy it. I felt that a lot."

Ravichandran Ashwin played with and under Rahul Dravid and spoke glowingly about the former India skipper. “I want to talk about a person who is sacred. 2007, 50-over World Cup. India gets knocked out. Rahul Dravid, the captain at that point in time. He does not captain the one-day side after that. He has been with the Indian team. If something does not go well, if the Indian team goes out, if they lose a match, immediately, they ask what Dravid is doing.”

“I know what he has been doing with this team for the past two or three years. I know how balanced he has been. I know how hard he has worked to change this approach. I know what he has given each of his players. Even when he is just sitting at home, he has been planning how to do this and that," Ravichandran Ashwin said while ending his recollection about Rahul Dravid.
