India's former head coach, Rahul Dravid, has done great things for the country. But this time, his gestures won the hearts for his simplicity and love towards his people. After BCCI announced the prize money for the Indian Cricket team, the division of money said Dravid would get INR 5 crores along with the team. However, Dravid denied the amount and further added that he would like to take the amount given to the other support staff.

"Rahul wanted the same bonus money (₹2.5 crore) as the rest of his support staff (bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dilip, and batting coach Vikram Rathore). We respect his sentiments," said a BCCI source to the Hindustan Times.

The prize money was divided in such a manner that the 15-member squad received INR 5 crores. This includes the players who didn't even play a single match. Apart from these, the travel reserves also received INR 1 crore. This was a good initiative by the Board to show appreciation for the World Champions.
