Pakistan's prime pace bowler Shaheen Afridi was dropped from the 2nd Test match against Bangladesh. However, that didn't bring any change in Pakistan's performance, and they lost the game by six wickets. As disappointing as it may be, dropping a young and one of the premium bowlers in the squad was never the solution to the 1st Test's loss. But speaking about Afridi's future, Pakistan Test team head coach Jason Gillespie said that 'he will play a significant role in the next 6-7 months'.

"We certainly want to see Shaheen at his best because we have a lot of cricket ahead in all formats, and he’s going to play a big role in that. But, make no mistake, Shaheen is a quality player and will play a significant role in the next 6-7 months," said Jason Gillespie, as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan's performance against Bangladesh was quite disappointing in the entire series, and hence, they lost the series 0-2. This whitewash affected their WTC 2025 and ICC Test rankings, as they have dropped to the 8th position in both. However, the visitors were quite brilliant with the bat and the ball, taking frequent wickets and smashing the Pakistan bowling attack. A little more credit goes to the batters for chasing 185 runs at the loss of just four wickets.

Next series is very important and this win gives us a lot of confidence: Najmul Shanto

After a terrific whitewash against Pakistan, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Shanto was happy and excited about the upcoming series against India. They carry a lot of confidence in themselves and hope that the performance continues. The entire team put in a lot of effort and they deserved to win the game. Bangladesh will be touring India to play a 2-match Test series, starting on September 19.

"Next series is very important and this win gives us a lot of confidence. We have a lot of experience in Mushi and Shakib, and they will be important in India. I hope this culture can continue. The party is the manager's call, we have to travel as well but we will go well," said Shanto in the presentation.
