Pakistan Women, under the captaincy of star all-rounder Fatima Sana, secured a spot in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 in India. The Women in Green defeated Thailand Women in the fourth match of their campaign in the ongoing Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025. Earlier in the tournament, they registered three consecutive wins in their first three games.
With the qualification of Pakistan Women for the main event in India, the tournament has been confirmed to be played in the hybrid model.
“Should Pakistan qualify for the World Cup, its matches will take place outside of India, according to the hybrid model agreed on by the BCCI and PCB earlier this year,” read a report in The Hindu after Pakistan’s 65-run win against West Indies on Monday, April 14.

Fatima Sana’s all-round performance leads Pakistan to World Cup spot
Speaking of the action of the 12th game of the Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025 between Pakistan Women and Thailand Women at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the hosts' skipper, Fatima Sana, won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, Pakistan Women posted 205 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Number three batter Sidra Amin played a brilliant knock of 80 runs off 105 balls, with nine fours and also stitched a decisive 97-run partnership with skipper Fatima Sana. Furthermore, Fatima also played an impactful knock of 62 runs off 59 balls, with six fours and a six.
Thipatcha Putthawong scalped 2 wickets at 37 runs in 10 overs for Thailand Women, alongside a wicket each picked by Phannita Maya and Onnicha Kamchomphu in the first innings.
While defending the target, the Pakistan Women bowlers bundled out the Thailand Women at the score of just 118 runs in 34.4 overs. Skipper Fatima Sana scalped 3 wickets at just 39 runs in her 8 overs for Pakistan Women in the second innings. Besides her, Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu also claimed 3 wickets at just 18 and 19 runs each. Sadia Iqbal also picked 1 wicket at just 11 runs in her four-over stint.
Eventually, Pakistan Women won the game by 87 runs to register their fourth consecutive win in the ongoing Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025.
