The hosts and defending champions Pakistan are all set to take on New Zealand in the tournament opener of the highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament's inaugural game will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi today, from 2:30 PM (IST) onwards.
Pakistan and New Zealand recently played each other in the final of the ODI tri-nation series a few days back at the same venue. In the tri-series final, the Blackcaps defeated the hosts by 5 wickets to win the series. Now, both teams will be eyeing winning this game to start their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign on a winning note.
With that said, here we’ll look at the weather report of the National Stadium in Karachi ahead of the important clash between Mohammad Rizwan’s men and the Blackcaps.

The temperature in the afternoon at the time of the game’s start will be 31 degrees Celsius with a bright and sunny day. The temperature will lower during the first half of the game before dropping to 25 degrees Celsius in the second innings. However, the humidity around the start of the game will be 53% which will further increase to 61% in the evening. The sky will be bright and sunny throughout the first half of the game, with 10% cloud cover in the afternoon, getting reduced to only 3% cloud cover in the evening.
The dew factor might also play an important role during the second innings, which is expected to make the conditions easier for a comfortable run chase. So, the toss-winning skipper is likely to bowl first to chase down the target under batting-friendly conditions.
