Speaking to the media, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi said, “We have sent ICC the questions we had We are still waiting for their response. I believe that sports and politics are separate and no country should mix the two. Even now I still have positive expectations about the Champions Trophy."

It was reported that South Africa had been touted as one of the venues for the event. Pakistan hasn’t hosted an ICC event since the 1996 ODI World Cup, the final of which was held in Lahore. India were the main host, with Pakistan and Sri Lanka also hosting a few matches.

Mohsin Naqvi exudes confidence about hosting the event

Speaking to the media PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi also said, “At this moment, every team that has qualified for the Champions Trophy is ready to come. Nobody has any issues. I will say today also, if India has any concerns, speak to us about them, we can ease those concerns. I don't think there is any reason for them not to visit."

Mr. Naqvi also threw the ball in ICC’s court and said, “My feeling is that the ICC will have to think about its credibility, that are they an organisation for all the world's bodies. And that route has been rescheduled, we haven't been told about any cancellation."

Meanwhile, one ICC source while speaking to India Today said, “We are still in discussions with the host and participating members on the Champions Trophy schedule. It should be out soon, likely in a couple of days or so,”
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that it wont tour Pakistan with India’s government not giving the nod. Apart from Rohit Sharma none of the current Indian player have toured across the border to play cricket.
