Rohit Sharma's bad form continues as he scored just three runs in the fourth Test match against Australia. While several changes were made to the team to fit Rohit in the top order, the player failed to shine yet again, disappointing the team. The former Australia player Ricky Ponting takes a dig at the Indian captain for his terrible batting performance in the ongoing game.

"That's just a lazy, not switched on, not up for the moment type of shot. He's been known as one of the best hookers and pullers of the ball since he's made his debut but that's just not there. It's nothing. It's not committed, not really looking to be aggressive, he's just looking to tap it on the head," said Ricky Ponting on Channel 7.

Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal formed a terrific partnership with each other, both batters were dismissed in the end. Jaiswal was run out on 82 runs, which was quite unfortunate. Due to a lack of communication between the two batters, the player had to return back to the pavilion. Just after a few deliveries, Kohli was dismissed by Boland on 36 runs. He played brilliantly and again touched the outside off-stump ball, which was completely unnecessary at that point.

Might have held in the wicket: Ricky Ponting

Ricky Ponting gave an analysis of how Rohit Sharma should have saved his wicket. Rohit's batting approach seemed to be a bit careless, affecting the team's combinations as well. Even though he moved up the order, he couldn't do much about it, and hence, is facing extreme criticism from everyone.

"Might have held in the wicket, yes; it might have seamed away from him a fraction. But if you're going to survive against this Australian attack, you've got to be switched on. You've got to be making good decisions. If you're not, they'll knock you over every time," said Ricky Ponting.
