The Universal Boss, Chris Gayle, has addressed an important issue amidst the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. During the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, some of the players had to leave the tournament in between to play international series with other countries. On this topic, Gayle suggested that other international tournaments shouldn't be held during the IPL as India is 'running' cricket, and one cannot deny it.

"No one can speak to India. India runs cricket. You have to face reality; it’s facts. Who is going to talk to India? Who is going to challenge India? No one. They run cricket. When the IPL is going on, you see players who have to leave the tournament to go play for their countries. If you have an IPL window [then] it should just be the IPL in that window. You shouldn’t have international cricket during that time frame because there’s only one team that’s going to benefit, and that’s India. That’s unfair. You cannot have a system like that," said Chris Gayle, as quoted by DafaNews.

Gayle points out that India is at a disadvantage with this system, which is wrong, and the countries should be more considerate about this. He urged the cricket boards to keep the window only for IPL and not include any other series in between. Gayle is the Brand Ambassador of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

The semi-finals of T20 WC scheduled on June 27

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is almost coming to an end, with the semifinals to be played on June 27. Both the semifinals will be played on the same day. The first match is between South Africa and Afghanistan at 6 AM IST, while the second match is between India and England at 8 PM IST.

While the chances of rain are relatively high during both the games, there is no reserve day for the second semifinal. There are 250 extra minutes allotted for the match, while the first match has 60 minutes of extra time along with a reserve day. Hence, if the match gets interrupted by rain, it won't trouble the scheduled games.
