England cricketer Brydon Carse has been ruled out of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Sunrisers Hyderabad had paid INR 1 crore to acquire Carse for the upcoming season. South Africa star Wiaan Mulder has been named as the replacement for the Englishman ahead of the new season which starts in two weeks.
Carse, had suffered an injury to his toe during the recent tour of India. This also means that the England player had missed Champions Trophy 2025 which saw his team crash out in the first round. Wiaan Mulder has been in impressive form with the bat and ball for South Africa and will provide a great option for SRH in the upcoming season.
Pat Cummins is set to lead the side for the second season in succession. The likes of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, and Cummins were retained ahead of the IPL Auction 2025. Mohammed Shami and Ishan Kishan are the top two Indian names who were brought during the two-day auctions held in Jeddah last November.
Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma join SRH training session
Young Indian cricket stars Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan were seen sweating it out in the nets for SRH recently. Sharma has become a key part of the SRH side and formed a great opening stand with Travis Head. On the back of his amazing performances, Sharma found a place in the Indian T20 side and has already scored two centuries.
Ishan Kishan on the other hand who began his IPL career with Gujarat Lions moved to Mumbai Indians in 2018. The left-handed batter and wicketkeeper played seven seasons for the men in Blue and Gold and won two titles. Kishan last played for India in 2023 and will be looking to make his comeback to the national side with a strong IPL 2025 season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had finished runners-up after losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in the finals. Their first match of the current season will be at home against Rajasthan Royals followed by second home match against Lucknow Super Giants. Their first away game will be in Vizag as they face Delhi Capitals.
