The Australian players are desperate to lay their hands on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after being away from it for more than a decade now. Several former players have made their predictions for the upcoming BGT series, starting in November.

Now, Australia's spin wizard Nathan Lyon has joined the party. As per the star bowler's prediction, the Aussies will win the series, 5-0. While talking to Alyssa Healy on the 'Willow Talk' podcast, Lyon opened up about the desperation and mentioned that the series won't be easy for India.

"It’s been 10 years since we have won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. I started thinking about this series when England were over in India, watching them go about it. I love the game and I will watch a decent Test match but I have had eyes on this series for a long time now. My prediction is 5-0 to Australia," said Nathan Lyon.

Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, India had maintained their winning streak against Australia in the series. Being an ambitious player, and an extraordinary captain, he made it look easy for everyone to beat the Aussies. However, that's not an easy job since they have some best players in the team. The task will be tough for the Rohit Sharma-led team since the Australian players are fired up for the series this time.

I don’t want 101 or 107, I want 180 and 200: Nathan Lyon

The pressure is not only on the Indians but the Australians as well, since they haven't won the series in a long time. The hosts have players like Travis Head, and Steven Smith who are waiting to welcome the Men in Blue with some tough competition. Lyon on the other hand, has urged his team's top order batters to smash the Indian bowling attack and score 180s and 200s in the series which will push the Indians on their backfoot.

"We need big runs. We need the guys, who are talented enough to get the hundred. The likes of Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Travis Head, all the top order. I don’t want 101 or 107, I want 180 and 200," added Lyon.

The series will most likely be between the Indian batters and the Australian bowlers. India too have some best batters in the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal and many more who can hit the bowling attack and destroy them. This will be a crucial series for India as they are eying to qualify for the WTC finals for the third time in a row.
