MS Dhoni getting benched? CSK's latest tweet sparks debate ahead of clash against DC in IPL 2024

The 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at DC's home ground Visakhapatnam. While the CSK team is leading the points table with two consecutive wins, the DC team is in the ninth position after losing two straight matches. The fans are eagerly waiting for the match to start since CSK's official social media team shared a picture of Aravalli Avnish practising in the nets.

Thus, the anticipation of Dhoni's inclusion in the team for the match against DC is troubling the fans. Avnish has been out in the nets practising for two days and it seems like he might be getting ready to replace Dhoni in the team ahead of the clash. Moroever, in the last two matches Dhoni hasn't come to bat leaving his fans in distress. 

Considering Dhoni's fitness, it might be CSK's way of giving him rest between the tournaments. In 2023, Dhoni went through a knee injury and got the surgery done post-IPL. However, nothing has been officially confirmed, and the fans will have to wait until toss to know more about the situation. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad's impressive start to the tournament

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)'s new form captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has started the IPL 2024 season with a bang. Leading the team to victory in both matches with great captaincy, Ruturaj seems to be in great touch. Along with captaincy, he has been batting amazingly at the top order along with Rachin Ravindra giving great starts to the team in the powerplay. While talking about the team's performance Ruturaj after the match against Gujarat Giants (GT), expressed his emotions regarding the team. 

"I'm impressed with the fielding as well. Maybe one or two youngsters we have extra this year and great effort from Jinks, even in the last game he was running from one end to the other. Fielding is a big tick for us," said Ruturaj at the post-match presentation.
