Virat Kohli (Source: X)
Virat Kohli's weakness against outside off deliveries haunts him to date, and the player isn't looking for ways to tackle it. Even in the 2nd Test match against Australia, he threw away his wicket as Mitchell Starc bowled a short-of-length delivery across Kohli, on the fifth-sixth stump line. The batter didn't leave the ball, nor did he play it. He just chipped it onto the 2nd slip where Steven Smith was waiting to take the catch.
Speaking about his dismissal, former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar slammed him for his ignorance regarding the outside off balls. Kohli has been getting out on these deliveries for a very long time and has not yet improved on them. He scored just seven runs in the first innings, putting the pressure on India.
"One important reason why Virat’s average has slipped to 48 now, is the unfortunate weakness outside off. But more crucially his adamance to not try another way to tackle it," tweeted Sanjay Manjrekar.
India's innings look more like a replication of the 1st Test match's first innings, where they were all out for just 150 runs. This time, too, the batters failed, which is why the bowlers are on the crease, trying to save the team.
Mitchell Starc takes fifer vs India
Mitchell Starc did the unbelievable against India in the second Test match. The pace bowler claimed a fifer, dismissing all the best batters of the team. Starc was incredible throughout the innings. He started with Jaiswal's wicket on the very first delivery of the match and then dismissed KL Rahul.
After that, his target was Virat Kohli, whose wicket he successfully got by bowling an outside off ball. Now, he went on to dismiss Ravichandran Ashwin, who was batting confidently on 22 runs. His final wicket was Harshit Rana, who was dismissed on a duck. Starc is a walking nightmare for the Indian team, and he proved it once again.
