Mohammad Rizwan, the white-ball captain of Pakistan, has donated a pair of gloves and his jersey to the Sydney Cricket Ground as a memory following the second T20I game against Australia. Pakistan lost the game, but the captain kept everything behind and went forward with the donation. SCG took to Instagram to show gratitude towards the player and his devotion to the game.
"Thank you, @mrizwanpak. Following Saturday’s T20 International against Australia, Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan donated a pair of his keeping glove and a playing shirt to the Sydney Cricket Ground Museum," wrote SCG on their Instagram account.
It was disappointing for Pakistan as they were whitewashed against Australia in the 3-match T20I series. After a magnificent ODI series, nobody expected such a downfall in the shorter format of the game. In the last game, the batters failed immensely as they could manage to score only 117 runs in the first innings. For Australia, Marcus Stoinis was the best performer, scoring 61 runs in 27 balls. He hit five boundaries and five sixes, which were huge. He was given the Player of the Match award.
Australia whitewashed Pakistan in 3-match T20I series
After losing the ODI series, Australia made sure that Pakistan would not return to their home with another trophy. The hosts went on to play an outstanding T20I series, winning all three games. They were magnificent in the series and didn't allow Pakistan to win any game. The rain interrupted the first game, so the overs were reduced to seven. The hosts won the game by 29 runs.
Moreover, Australia won the second game by 13 runs and the last game by seven wickets. Pakistan will have a lot of learning to do from the series and try to improvise in the upcoming series.
