Preview

Two teams struggling to find their form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will battle it out in the 25th game of the season. The big clash on Thursday at the Wankhede Stadium is between home side Mumbai Indians and visiting side Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Mumbai Indians (MI) have so far played four games and won their previous encounter. After three losses to start the season, Hardik Pandya was under lots of pressure to deliver as the captain. The win over Delhi Capitals will be a huge shot in the arm for the five-time winners as they now play RCB and CSK in successive matches at home.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) began the season with a loss to Chennai Super Kings and followed it up by beating Punjab. Losses to KKR, LSG, and Rajasthan Royals mean that RCB have just posted one win from the five games played in IPL 2024 so far.

Win the toss and bowl first will be the main objective of the captains at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday night. Trent Boult damaged the Mumbai Indians batting line-up in the last game as the Royals chased down the target easily. It will be a high-scoring game once again and the pacers will also get early help thanks to the breeze during the evening time.

Top players for MI vs RCB Dream 11 Match

Top Players – Mumbai Indians

Rohit Sharma – Mumbai Indians need their former skipper to start scoring the big runs. One of the biggest problems for Rohit Sharma in the last few years of the IPL has been his inability to convert the big starts. If the 36-year-old can score big tomorrow the RCB bowlers will have a tough day on the field.

Jasprit Bumrah – Hardik Pandya will hope that Jasprit Bumrah can keep his great form going for the rest of the season. The 30-year-old pacer has been the most bankable player for MI this season with his timely wickets.

Top Players – Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Virat Kohli – The onus of scoring runs for RCB yet again falls on Virat Kohli. The former RCB skipper is the only batter this season to breach the 300-run mark and score a century as well.

Mohammed Siraj – Despite the poor start to the season, there is no doubting the talent that 30-year-old Siraj has with the ball. The right-arm pacer will be a potent threat with the new ball particularly against Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma.

MI vs RCB Must Picks for Dream 11 Cricket

Tilak Varma – It has been yet another amazing season of IPL cricket for the left-handed batter from Hyderabad. Tilak Varma is the batting lynchpin of Mumbai Indians and he will hope to do well in a key game when he faces RCB at home on Thursday.

Glenn Maxwell – The veteran Australian star is a handful player when he is in full form. The game against Mumbai Indians is important for Glenn Maxwell who is yet to show his full potential with the bat and ball this season for RCB.

MI vs RCB Risky Captaincy Choices

Suryakumar Yadav – The 33-year-old batter has just come back to cricket after being on the sidelines due to injury. In his very first game for Mumbai Indians this season SKY was out for a second ball duck. The MI fans will hope that Suryakumar Yadav can find his best form and put the RCB bowlers to the sword.

Faf du Plessis – It has been a tough start to the season with the bat for RCB skipper Faf Dum Plessis. The 39-year-old finally got amongst the runs with an important knock against Rajasthan Royals. Faf du Plessis will fancy a return to the Wankhede Stadium where he has done well with the bat historically.

Players you should avoid

Piyush Chawla – IPL 2024 season has been a horror ride for the veteran Mumbai Indians leg-spinner. Piyush Chawla bowled just 2 overs against Delhi Capitals and was smashed for 16 runs in each over before he was taken off the attack.

Yash Dayal – RCB’s pacer Yash Dayal has put in some decent performances in the last few games. The 27-year-old though has also been expensive and the batting-friendly track in Mumbai could very well see Yash Dayal struggle especially if the MI batters get off to a good start.
