The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a global platform for young and talented players worldwide to showcase their skills. The franchise owners have always supported players from different parts of the country who have the potential to perform on a big stage.
This time, too, most franchises have picked up uncapped players for the upcoming IPL season. While these players do not get a chance to play straightaway in the game, they get a chance to be around the world's legendary players and learn from them. Some of the uncapped players might be tested during the IPL, but not all.
The players stay with the team for around 2-3 seasons and then are introduced to the tournament. Usually, these uncapped players perform in domestic games for their respective states. The talent scouting team from each franchise or BCCI keeps a close eye on the players for some time before including their names in the auction list. In the mega auction, almost 12 uncapped young players have been picked up by several franchises for the 18th season of the IPL.
