MCA has come up with a plan to rescue the ‘derailing career’ of the Young ‘struggling’ batter Prithvi Shaw. The India batter has been in the headlines for the last couple of days and disappointingly, for all the wrong reasons.
The batter first attracted the eyeballs for posting an Instagram story to express his disappointment after getting ignored by selectors of the Mumbai squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-24.
"We were playing with 10 fielders in SMAT" - MCA official about Prithvi Shaw
In the same line of events, an MCA official came up with some harsh and unfiltered comments while speaking about the ‘fitness issues with Prithvi Shaw’.
“In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, we were playing with 10 fielders as were forced to hide Prithvi Shaw. The ball would pass near him, and he would barely make an effort to get to it. His fitness, discipline, and attitude are poor. There cannot be different rules for different players,” said an MCA official to PTI a few days.
However, the Mumbai Cricket Association recently came up with a decision that might be considered as a life for Shaw’s drowning career but it has come in the wrapper of a ‘demotion.’ The state cricket association has been included in the 18-player squad of MCA Colts in the Police Invitation Shield Tournament 2024-25. The 25-year-old has also been named the captain of the team for this tournament.
However, this inclusion is a demotion for the youngster, but it could also be a ‘chance of revival’ for him to get back to ‘scoring runs’ with consistency.
Here's a look at Prithvi Shaw's Instagram story after exclusion:
After getting excluded from Mumbai’s squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, Shaw took to his Instagram and wrote in his story, “Tell me, God, what more do I have to see… if 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I'm not good enough.”
“But I will keep my faith in you and hopefully people believe in me still. cause I will come back for sure. OM SAI RAM,” his story read further.
