Know more about Bevon John Jacobs, the 22-year-old player signed by MI in mega auction

Mumbai Indians (MI) have made a few surprising buys in the recently ended mega auction 2024. They signed in Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar, making their bowling attack extremely strong. On top of that, they have Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Tilak Varma as the batters. They have built a top-notch squad for themselves and look set for the upcoming IPL 2025. 

Moreover, MI have also signed a 22-year-old Zealand player, Bevon John Jacobs, for INR 30 lakhs. The fun fact about the player is that he is from South Africa but has played most of his cricket in New Zealand. He caught the franchise's eye because of his terrific record in domestic cricket. While playing in the Christchurch Metro competition for Sydenham Cricket Club in 2021, he scored 178 runs, which is the tournament's highest score. 

He is a talented young player who might not get a chance to play in the IPL this season, but he will surely play in the upcoming years if he continues with his form. He will learn a lot from players like Rohit, Surya, and Hardik in the tournament.
