Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is back home ahead of the three-match Test series starting against New Zealand. The 35-year-old was seen exiting the airport and making his way to the car. That’s when the media personnel went up to Kohli and said “BGT main aag lagani hai”

To which Kohli replied “Kisme aag lagani hai”. The media personnel were quick to reply once again that “BGT main”. Team India is set to tour Australia for five-match series with the first match set to be hosted in Perth.

Before the Australian tour, India will take on New Zealand in 3-Test matches. The first match will be played in Bengaluru on 16th October. Pune and Mumbai will host the next two games starting on 24th October and 1st November respetively.

2024 has been a below par year for the former Indian skipper with the bat in hand. The 35-year-old has played just 3 Test matches this year and scored 157 runs with the bat. His best of 47 came during the 1st innings of the second Test vs Bangladesh in Kanpur.

Barring his two centuries in 2023, Virat Kohli’s Test format has been a cause for concern. The upcoming series against New Zealand will give India’s ace batter the right chance to back into the groove. Both Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma will want the 35-year-old to be firing on all cylinders during India’s tour of Australia.

Recently, Virat Kohli during an interview with Star Sports recalled having to deal with mental struggles during his lowest phase. The 35-year-old said “I’m looked at as a guy who is mentally very strong, and I am. But everyone has a limit, and you need to recognise that limit, otherwise, things can get unhealthy for you. I’m not shy to admit that I was feeling mentally down”

India’s former skipper also added “This is a very normal thing to feel, but we don’t speak. we don’t want to be looked at as mentally weak. Trust me, faking to be strong is far worse and that’s something that I’m not feeling any shame for, that I was feeling mentally weak
