Former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen criticized star Indian batter Virat Kohli for the way he threw his wicket in the third ODI against England. While batting on 52 runs, Kohli was deceived by Adil Rashid, who bowled a beautiful delivery to dismiss the batter. The 36-year-old was playing really well after many days but still got out the same way. Moreover, Rashid has dismissed him for the 5th time in the ODIs. It seems like Kohli is still struggling against the spinners.

"He shouldn't be getting out to that ball. He's a much better player than that. And he will be kicking himself. That ball is bowled slowly through the air. So he shouldn't have been over-committed on the front foot. He should have played back to it. He should have punched it into the offside, and he would still have been batting and he probably would have gone on to get a big score," said Kevin Pietersen while talking to Star Sports.

Kohli scored his 73rd ODI fifty, giving a sigh of relief to the management ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025. India would look forward to having their best players in form since Jasprit Bumrah will miss the tournament due to injury.

Kevin Pietersen advice Virat Kohli to watch Joe Root's batting videos

Virat Kohli's struggle against Adil Rashid is pretty evident now, as he was dismissed by him in the previous game as well. Speaking about the dismissal, the former English player said that Kohli should watch Joe Root's videos and see how to avoid playing on the front foot.

"Look how far forward his bat is in front of his pad. This means he's got the length wrong and he's too good a player to get out like that. He shouldn't be doing it. He shouldn't be giving Adel Rashid that chance to get his wicket. You watch Joe Root. He will never be over-committed on the front foot like that. No way," added Pietersen.
