Rajasthan Royals hosted the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 19th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. Both teams played this match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 6, 2024. The hosts’ skipper Sanju Samson invited the RCB to bat first after winning the toss.

Batting first, RCB managed to post a decent total of 183 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The opening pair of former skipper Virat Kohli and current skipper Faf du Plessis stitched an outstanding partnership of 125 runs for the first wicket in 14 overs before du Plessis got dismissed at the score of 44 runs off 33 balls, with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Later, the modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli kept playing beautifully and smashed the first century of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024, scoring unbeaten 113 runs off just 72 balls, with 12 fours and 4 sixes with a strike rate of 156.94.

Nandre Burger and Yuzvendra Chahal bagged 1 and 2 wickets, respectively for Rajasthan Royals in the first innings.

Jos Buttler runs through RCB’s bowling attack

While chasing the target, the star RR opener Jos Buttler smashed an amazing century, scoring 100 runs off just 58 balls, with 9 fours and 4 sixes, alongside skipper Sanju Samson’s 69 runs off 42 balls, with 8 fours and 2 sixes. On the back of these amazing knocks, Rajasthan Royals managed to chase down the target in 19.1 overs, scoring 189 runs for the loss of 4 wickets and winning the match by 6 wickets.

Reece Topley scalped 2 wickets for RCB, alongside one wicket each bagged by Yash Dayal and Mohammed Siraj. Jos Buttler won the ‘Player of the Match award for his match-defining knock in RR’s favour.

It is also the fourth consecutive win for RR in the fourth match of their ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 campaign.
