Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh revealed a funny interaction that took place between himself and Virat Kohli. The incident took place ahead of the beginning of the Brisbane Test match on Saturday. Spotting his former teammate wearing all white, Kohli broke into an impromptu dance mimicking the famous ex-Bollywood star Jeetendra's steps.
Harbhajan Singh during his commentary stint said, “Today I was wearing a light pink and white jacket, which from a distance looked all white and Kohli said, Aithe Jitendra aagya. He started humming Naino Mein Sapna from far behind.” The song in question is a famous number involving Jeetendra who is a huge Bollywood superstar actor.
The former India star went onto adding, “Then he began showing dance moves, which I couldn’t understand at first. He couldn’t stop himself and came closer to me to show the full dance steps. I jokingly thought I had made a mistake by wearing this outfit. If I had worn those white leather boots too, I would have completely resembled Jeetu ji!"
Harbajan Singh notices change in Virat Kohli’s batting
Former India skipper Virat Kohli scored a century during the 2nd innings of the Perth Test. This was followed by his twin failures in Adelaide where he was again out getting nicked behind the wicket while trying to play the 4th stump line.
During his chat on Star Sports, Harbhajan Singh said, “Yes, whatever little I have seen him batting in the nets today. I have played a lot of cricket with him. He is a front-foot player. Knowing the bounce on Indian soil, you have to be on your front foot. The people who have played here, the likes of Ricky Ponting, Steve Waugh, Langer, Hayden. They were good back foot players, because of the bounce. It is the kind of bounce you get in Australia, you have to be good player of bounce. You need to have a good backfoot game. That’s what he was practicing."
The 44-year-old also added, “Specifically I have noticed today. He was playing a lot of deliveries on the backfoot. He was going forward for the fuller ball but those balls which were slightly shorter, he was either leaving or trying to play them. The ball from the back foot, he knows that Gabba will be a different wicket where he will get to face a lot of bounce and pace and that back foot game needs to be included in his game. Good to see him working on the game. I am sure, knowing Virat Kohli, we have seen him making a comeback after every setback.”
