After a thrilling win against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, India's best pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, received the player of the match performance for his 3/14. Well, Bumrah is known for his lethal bowling against all teams; however, this spell of three wickets and 14 runs was special. It wasn't special because it was against Pakistan, but because of India's comeback after being out of the game for almost the entire 2nd innings.

It all started with Bumrah's first over when he came into the attack with Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan on the crease. While Rizwan scored two on the first ball, the second and the third balls were dots. However, the fourth ball was a boon for Pakistan as Shivam Dube dropped Rizwan's catch, which was more of a sitter. On the fifth ball, Babar went for one run, and the last ball was short of a length delivery on the off stump, so Rizwan pushed it towards mid-off but didn't take a run.

Bumrah's 2nd over was miraculous for India. The first ball went for a run, and the 2nd ball was a dot. The third ball was hit for a four by Babar Azam, who looked settled by then. However, Bumrah brought India back into the game by giving a much-needed breakthrough. On the fourth ball, he dismissed Babar for 13 runs, with Suryakumar Yadav completing a brilliant catch. The last two balls were dot balls, which kept increasing Pakistan's pressure.

Watch Bumrah's spell in the video:

After a gap of 10 overs, Bumrah returned in the 14th over for his third over, and the first ball was Rizwan's wicket. It was the same way he dismissed Rizwan in the ODI WC 2023. The second and the third ball of the over were dot balls by Shadab Khan, who somehow managed to get a run on the fourth ball. Imad Wasin came into the strike and took two runs in the fifth ball while the last ball was a dot again.

Bumrah came back after a break of four overs to complete his spell and started off with a vicious off-cutter. Imad survived and took a run on the first ball. However, Iftikhar Ahmed struggled against Bumrah as the next two balls went for dots. Ahmed ran for his life in the fourth ball and rotated the strike, and it seems like Imad did the same thing in the fifth ball. But this time, nobody could save Ahmed as he got dismissed on the last ball of Bumrah's spell.
