Delhi Capitals' former captain Rishabh Pant posted an emotional video on social media as he bid farewell to the team. In the mega auction, Lucknow Super Giants grabbed Pant for 27 crores, who became the costliest player in the tournament. Pant was the captain of DC and he will have the same role here in LSG as well.

The wicket keeper batter didn't have a great season last year but he is capable of power hitting in the middle order which is very important. On the field, he is a chirpy player which have been worked in his favour. Hence, DC lost a talented player. Even though they used the RTM card for Pant in the auction, LSG quoted a high price for him which made DC to backout.

DC grabbed a steal deal in the form of KL Rahul who went for just 14 crores. The player deserved much more than that because of his accolades in the tournament. Although he didn't win a trophy yet, he has proved his worth several times. Rahul will be the captain of DC while Pant will captain LSG, which is an unofficial swap for players. Watching these two batters play in different teams will be exciting.

This was very well to our plan: Shashwat Goenka

Sanjiv Goenka's son Shashwat Goenka revealed his mega auction plan and clarified that getting Rishabh Pant into the team was their plan. They were happy with the bid as Pant is an outstanding player and has done well in the tournament. He opened up about how they quoted the number to stay a step ahead of DC.

Shashwat said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo, "No matter how much you plan, things do not always work out like that. This (getting Pant for 27 crore) was very well to our plan. It was not really a magic number, we just wanted a number so that the RTM does not get exercised."
