As the IPL 2025 is set to resume on May 17, with the RCB vs KKR clash in Bengaluru after a week of suspension, a lot of changes are underway among most of the franchises. Just a day ago, Delhi Capitals signed Bangladesh quick Mustafizur Rahman as a replacement for the young Aussie batter Jake Fraser-McGurk.
In the same line of events, the LSG have also faced a big blow as the young pacer Mayank Yadav has been ruled out again for the remainder of the tournament due to his back injury. It was not a piece of news that LSG would have waited for, as Mayank was just back in action after a long hiatus due to the same injury issue.
He could play only two matches for his side in the ongoing IPL 2025 before his injury forced him again to stay out of action for the remaining part of the tournament. Now, the LSG have signed the New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke as his replacement; the Kiwi quick has been signed by the franchise for an amount of INR 3 crores.
Punjab Kings sign Kyle Jamieson, Jos Buttler to leave GT for national duties
Speaking of other teams, the Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings will be missing the services of Lockie Ferguson for the rest of the tournament. It also made them sign Ferguson’s compatriot and another Kiwi speedster, Kyle Jamieson, for INR 2 crores, to be a part of the squad for the remainder of the ongoing 18th edition.
Whereas, the table toppers, Gujarat Titans, are also going through a big conundrum to replace the former England skipper and the veteran wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler. It has been now clear that Buttler will be off to England for national commitments, which will make him unavailable to be a part of GT squad in the tournament’s playoff stage.
