Abhishek spoke highly of five-time IPL-winning skipper Rohit Sharma in a recent video shared during the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025. Meanwhile, the young batter also expressed his wish to borrow one special thing from Rohit Sharma.
The talented Southpaw said that it would be the fearless attitude of Rohit Sharma’s batting that he would like to borrow.

Abhishek made it to the headlines first after his sensational performances last year during the Indian Premier League 2024. He was one of the leading run-scorers in the tournament’s last edition and ended up with the highest batting strike rate.
However, Abhishek has been found struggling with the bat in the tournament’s current edition. He has scored 31 runs in three innings, with a strike rate of 172.22.
Speaking of Abhishek Sharma’s short but illustrious T20I career for India, he has scored 535 runs in 16 innings of the 17 games he has played. The Southpaw has a brilliant average of 33.43, hitting two centuries and two half-centuries, with a massive batting strike rate of 193.84.
He will be in action for SRH against the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), in the upcoming 15th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025.
Notably, the BCCI and Indian selectors and management are also looking at Abhishek Sharma as a potential opening option for the upcoming home T20 World Cup next year in 2026. He could be a vital asset with the bat for India in their quest to defend the T20 World Cup title in the home conditions.
