There was a funny moment that occurred during the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 game on Monday. A six hit outside the stadium saw the ball fall into the fields where a person picked up the ball and didn’t give it back. The fans were seen asking the person to throw it back but the man wasn’t in a mood to listen.

The incident happened during the game between Siachem Madurai Panthers and Chepauk Super Gillies. The Madurai side won the game by 9 runs but sadly have already been eliminated from the competition.

Lyca Kovai Kings are top of the table with 12 points from 7 games, while IDream Tiripur side are second in the table. Chepauk Super Gillies and Dindigul Dragons are the final two teams to make it to the playoff stages.

Madurai posts consolation win over Super Gillies

It was Madurai who batted first and posted 191 from their 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Wicketkeeper and batter Lokeshwar led the charge with 55 runs from 40 balls with two fours and 5 sixes.

Skipper Hari Nishant batted well to score 37 runs from 28 balls. Number three batter J Kousik then scored 43 runs from 24 balls with three fours and 2 sixes. Saravanan (25) and NS Chaturvedi (26*) gave the much-needed finishing touches to the innings.

D Santosh Kumar gave the Chepauk side a great start as he scored 48 with the bat from 36 balls. Experienced stars N Jagadeesan and Baba Aparjith though failed to score which dented the chase of Chepauk.

Pradosh Paul tried his best to stage a fightback as he scored 52 runs from 37 balls with four and 4 huge sixes. Madurai bowlers kept their cool as they romped home to an easy 9-wicket win. With just a few league matches left TNPL 2024 is soon hurtling towards its finale.

Meanwhile, fans and experts who saw the most comical moment of the game cannot still stop talking about it. The incident has become a huge hit on social media and has already garnered a lot of likes.
