Australia's ICC T20 World Cup 2024 campaign has been going great, with two back-to-back wins. They are almost on the verge of qualifying for the Super 8. However, there's only one thing that Australia will miss after the World Cup, and that is David Warner. The legendary batter has given so much to the team that it will always be remembered. This is his last World Cup, and as per Warner, he'll only play in the IPL and all the franchise cricket leagues.

"I feel great. It's time now to keep playing as much IPL and franchise cricket as I can. It's very hard to play for over a decade and keep your spot. I think if we can get some young guys coming through who have potential, Australian cricket's going to be in good stead for the future," said David Warner, as quoted by TOI.

Warner is currently the leading run-scorer in Australia, surpassing Aaron Finch. In the match against Oman, he scored a half-century for the team. In 104 innings, Warner scored 3155 runs, which is a huge achievement for any player. Apart from international cricket, he's quite connected with the IPL and is with the Delhi Capitals (DC). He has clarified his intentions of playing franchise cricket for as long as possible before retiring from cricket.

David Warner's cameo helps Australia touch 200-mark in match against England

Known for his dangerous batting, even at the age of 37 years, David Warner played a beautiful cameo against England, due to which, Australia reached a target of 201 runs in 20 overs. He scored 39 runs off 16 balls, including two boundaries and four sixes. England has a pretty good bowling attack with the likes of Jofra Archer and Mark Wood.

However, Warner thrashed everyone before getting dismissed to Moeen Ali. While trying to hit the ball, Warner got bowled. But the start he gave the team was very helpful as they reached the 200 mark and became the first team to do so in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
