Former RCB and CSK skipper Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have shared a beautiful bond ever since they started playing with each other. Now that the time has come for Dhoni to retire from IPL, this might be his last encounter against his favourite batter, Kohli. Talking about their bond and the fans' excitement to see the Dhoni-Kohli duo, the Orange Cap holder got emotional when he talked about whether this would be their last match or not.

"For fans to see him (Dhoni) play in any stadium in India is big - me & him playing again, maybe for the last time, you never know - that is a special thing, we had a great partnership for India, it's a great occasion for fans to see us together," said Virat Kohli on JioCinema.

After playing against each other for 15 years, if Dhoni decides to retire this year, the CSK vs RCB matches won't be the same anymore for the viewers. They will miss the duo and the entertainment they produced during the match days. Starting from the toss to Dhoni hitting sixes in the last over, the flashbacks will haunt the fans for a long time. Even though most of the experts who are close to Dhoni say he won't retire this year, you never know what plays MSD has for the future.

MS Dhoni's performance in IPL 2024

Even though a back and knee injury has kept MS Dhoni away from batting in the middle order, out of 13, he has been not out in eight matches and scored 136 runs at an average of 68.00. The best part about his batting was the long sixes he scored in the last overs in several matches. He played at a strike rate of 226.67, which was another good thing about his innings.

The match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) was an unforgettable match for the CSK fans as he came to bat in the 19.2 overs, and scored 6,6,6,2 off the last four balls. Surprisingly, the Super Kings won the match by 20 runs and beat MI in their backyard. This innings was a clear proof of his form and temperament. Nevertheless, even if he played for a short period as the injuries didn't allow him to bat for a much longer time, his fans were happy to see him bat and finish the innings.
